Cameroon National ID Card / Passport can now be Verified Online

Over the years, Cameroonians had to go through a lot to get National ID cards and Passports, but the government has just made it more accessible. Cameroonians, as well as foreigners, can now verify the progress of their National ID cards, resident permits and refugee cards online.

Over the years, Cameroonians had to go through a lot to get National ID cards and Passports, but the government has just made it more accessible. Cameroonians and foreigners can now verify the progress of their National ID cards, resident permits, and refugee cards online.

Going down memory lane, the thought of getting a new National ID card (as known by its French acronym CNI-Carte National D'identite) after expiration or theft, always rekindles the memory of a queue at a shop on boxing day. This was seen as some Cameroonians had to live their homes as early as 4:30 a.m. to be amongst the first at Police stations which opens at 8:00 a.m. to be amongst the first to be attended to, just to avoid the queue. Some others had to take trips to other parts of the country to avoid the line in other places. This activity for some people could take months to get the National ID cards.

Moreover, after going through the stress, sometimes when you collect the National ID card, you could hear of complaints like it is missing or has been sent to another location or it has not been produced, and you might have to start all over.

This move taken by the government is an applaudable step towards decongesting the Police stations and also providing some transparency to the process.

How to verify the availability of your National ID card, Residence Permit, and Refugee Card in Cameroon

2. Enter the receipt number as it is written on the receipt issued to you. (example: CE75415L5IP98KFQ6MZ0)
3. Click on Search
4. Details on the state of issue of the Document will be displayed.

How to Verify the availability of Cameroonian Passport or follow-up online

1. Go to the official Cameroonian website for passport verification or follow-up via this ⇛⇛LINK.⇚⇚
2. Enter your names in the Correct order as it is in your Birth Certificate.
3. Enter your of Date of Birth (D.O.B) correctly.
4. Click Search
5. Details on the state of the issue of the Cameroonian Passport will be provided.
