No Recruitment of Temporary Workers at the Ministry of Public Service (MINFORPRA)
On 17 July 2020, there was some information circulating on social media pertaining to the recruitment of temporary workers for Cameroon's Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform.
The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform informs the public opinion that there is currently a rumour circulating in particular social networks, which is false information about an alleged operation to recruit temporary workers in the ministerial department of which he is responsible.
This information comes from people of bad faith and gives rise to increasingly recurrent acts of corruption and fraud which expose the perpetrators and accomplices to disciplinary and criminal prosecution.
The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform (MINFORPRA) recalls that any recruitment in the public service is made by competitive entrance exams on special authorization from the President of the Republic or the Prime Minister. These exams go in application of the provisions of the General Statute of the Public Service of the State and of Decree No. 78/484 of November 9, 1978. This decree setting the common provisions applicable to State employees falling under the labour code relating thereto. He also indicates that the only recruitments in progress concern the competitive examinations and selection tests opened within the framework of the implementation of the recruitment plan 2020.
