Heb. 9:23-29
JESUS IS COMING AGAIN NOT TO DEAL WITH SIN, BUT TO SAVE THOSE WHO WAIT ON HIM
Beloved in the Lord, many people misunderstand our annual participation in the Lent season and the remembrance of the sufferings and death of Jesus Christ on the cross. When we observe the Lenten season, remembering the sufferings and death of Jesus, some people think that Jesus is still suffering. So every year it seems to them as though Jesus is still suffering and dying and resurrecting. Not at all! Our yearly observance is just a remembrance of what He did 2000 years ago so that we can be convicted to love Him more and more and to live every day for Him.
When Jesus died He accomplished His mission of sealing the new covenant between God and His people. Like the Bible assures us, it is appointed for man to die once and after that judgement (verse 27). Jesus died once and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, to come a second time again, not to deal with sin any longer but to save those who wait for Him and to condemn those who despised Him and His works of redemption.
Beloved in the Lord, are you waiting on the Lord? What does the death of Jesus mean to you? He died to take away your sins, have you forsaken sin? Or do you still need Jesus to die again for your sins? Jesus has died once and for all but His blood still flows for those who are repentant and who desire cleansing. Those who go to Him will be cleansed.
As you live every day, be prepared for the second coming of our Lord Jesus.
If Jesus was to come today, will He find you worthy or living in sin? It is better for you to repent and ask Him for mercy because you do not know when the son of Man will return. As it is appointed for man to die once and after that judgement if you die today, will you face the judgement seat of God with joy or regrets?
Wait on Jesus and live by faith in Him for He is coming again to judge the world. However, for now, His blood is available for your cleansing. So, go to Him in faith with a broken and a contrite heart for cleansing and He will not despise you.
PRAYER
Dear God and Father, I thank you for your great and boundless love for me. I wonder where I would have been if Jesus didn't die for my sake. He took my place and suffered to Calvary, having me in mind. He gave up His life and shed his precious blood to cleanse me from sin. As I remember His sufferings and death, I pray that my life will be like His and that I will please Him in all I do, so that, I will not be found wanting when He returns to save His own. Thank you for your life. I desire to live for you every day and to please you with my all. Thank you, Jesus. Amen
